Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the International Institute for Responsible Artificial Intelligence Ethics and Governance plays a crucial role in shaping our strategic direction, ensuring ethical governance, and overseeing the fulfillment of our mission.

Our Board members bring diverse expertise from technology, ethics, policy, and business sectors, providing the comprehensive oversight necessary to navigate the complex landscape of AI ethics and governance.

Board Structure

Our Board consists of 11 members, each serving a three-year term with the possibility of renewal. The Board operates through several committees, including:

Board Recruitment

The Board of Directors is initially handpicked by the Executive Director based on previous relationships, agreements, and alignment with the organization's mission. After the first year, board members are up for re-election, with terms and the election process established by the new board and voted upon by the members. This ensures a democratic process and the inclusion of diverse perspectives as we grow.
